Sports and physical activity are vital in one’s life. Students who participate in sports learn a sense of preparedness for the future. Engaging in sport teaches kids that other people depend on them. Students develop the self-discipline, motivation and leadership skills that they will need to succeed in building a purposeful life.
However, each year, out of the 40 million kids, in the U.S., who participate in sport, 70% drop out by the time they reach 13 years old; By this age of 13, one in two young girls drop out of sport; they are three times more likely to drop out than boys. There is not one particular reason for this.
Some athletes claim, “it’s just not fun anymore”, while many other athletes struggle with mental related issues, from training schedules, fear of failure and disappointment, fear of success and the responsibilities and commitments that success brings, even the risk of injuries or returning from an injury. Whatever the case may be, we at PCP, realize the importance of sports and can help in maintaining a healthy, balanced sporting career, connecting mind, body and soul.
